Ep. 9: Building Community for Healing and Hope | Sophie Trew

This week’s episode is a deep and beautiful conversation with my inspirational friend Sophie Trew. Sophie was diagnosed with cancer in 2014 at the age of 23 and subsequently went on to found Trew Fields, the UK’s first Holistic Health and Cancer Awareness Festival. Trew Fields is a festival for anyone interested in holistic approaches to health and healing, not just for people affected by cancer. Statistically speaking, one in two of us will get cancer and prevention is ALWAYS better than cure. As well as being festival founder, Sophie also works as a coach, breathwork facilitator and motivational speaker.

In this episode we discuss:

  • Sophie’s personal journey to setting up Trew Fields

  • The festival as a space where integrative medicine, lifestyle medicine, spirituality and shamanism collide

  • The role of community in health and healing

  • The challenges and gifts that come with working in the cancer space

  • Death and dying

  • And so much more

This is a raw and honest conversation so I hope you enjoy it. If you do, please take a moment to subscribe and review.

Trew Fields will be held from from 3rd-5th July 2020. You can find out more about Sophie and the festival at www.trewfields.com  or @trewfields
